About Me

I’m Chris, founder of Plus Less Than Minus.

I came to golf late. I grew up on baseball, playing every ball sport I could. About three years ago I picked up a club. I haven’t put it down since.

Somewhere along the way I noticed the polos I wanted cost close to a hundred bucks. The ones I could justify buying felt like it. So I started building my own.

Golf around here has always worked this way. In 1971, a Portland cab driver named George Jones started sewing golf bags in his basement, selling them out of his trunk. Jones Sports Co. is still going. In 1985, the Jacobsen brothers came home to Portland from Scotland with an idea for a simple leather carry bag. MacKenzie still makes them by hand today. Both started from one idea: the game deserved better.

PLTM is my piece of that story. Built in Beaverton. Refined enough for the office, made for the course. The +<- mark sits at the collar of every polo. The price stays honest.

That’s what “Heritage Our Way” means. Golf has a lot of tradition. I respect it. I just don’t think you need to be born into the game, or pay country-club prices, to belong in it.

I’ve spent 16 years behind a bar. I’ve coached youth basketball, youth soccer too. Both taught me the same thing: people show up for what feels real. That’s what I’m building.

Better than a day at work. See you out there.
